Everyone should create a space in their homes for daily meditation. A space that provides you with the opportunity to recharge your body physically and mentally, and keep you balanced. The meditation actually has the power to change the way our brains work.

Take some inspiration below to create your own meditation room, but the most importantly, follow your mind and heart, putting in elements you love that create a personal feeling of zen-like bliss.

  1. Choose the feel good place:

Pick a room in your home that makes you feel good such as quiet, clean and bright room, and definitely a room with a limited amount of traffic.

When choosing the room, pay attention to the lighting as well. A room that has a lot of natural light will instantly enhance your mood.

  1. Play meditative music:

The meditative music should choose the music without lyrics and be better than in the quiet background, such as ocean sounds, birds chirping or sounds of the wind. Make sure the tracks are long enough to continue playing through your meditation session to avoid interruption.

  1. Clean and uncluttered:

Speaking of distractions, there is nothing more distracting than a cluttered area, especially when you are trying to relax. So make sure to be minimal everything in the room. Consider empty out the room to contain only a few elements include a small table with meditation accessories, a yoga mat, and a pillow or cushion.

  1. Aromatherapy:

Another element to consider in your meditation room is aromatherapy. The use of natural essential oil such as tea tree, rosemary, peppermint can soothe your soul, mind and body. Or you can burn candles an incense while meditating, not only help you relax but also heal aide and stimulate brain function.

These are all great reasons why you should include aromatherapy in your meditation room.

  1. Bring nature to your meditation room:

Most believe that meditation is all about connecting yourself (mind and body) with nature and your surroundings. Consider adding touches of nature to your meditation room. It will turn your room into be harmony and balance. You can choose any natural elements you prefer. It could be a plant, a vase of flower or a jars filled with sand.

  1. Add a personal touch:

When creating your meditation room, you definitely want to include some of your own personal touches. This can be any element, smell, sound or objects such as crystal, spiritual artwork, beads. Any of these are great elements for create a peaceful environment for you to focus on meditating.

  1. Fresh air is important:

Fresh air has many benefits, including boosting your brainpower, improving your health and helping you feel refreshed. If your space is outdoors, this will not be difficult to obtain. However, if you are indoors, you need to make sure the room is well-ventilated. If your room does not have windows, consider insert a ceiling fan or standing fan.

There are many elements that you should consider when creating a meditation room. Choose a quiet spot to avoid noisy distractions and bring in elements of nature basically to start from.
